Redundancy Pay Calculator — Common Questions
How Statutory Redundancy Pay Works
If you're made redundant after at least 2 years' continuous service, you're entitled to statutory redundancy pay based on your age, length of service, and weekly pay. The formula gives half a week's pay per full year under 22, one week's pay per full year aged 22–40, and one and a half weeks' pay per full year aged 41 or over — up to a maximum of 20 years' service. Weekly pay used in the calculation is capped at £751 (from 6 April 2026) or £719 (2025/26 tax year), even if you actually earn more.
Important Notes
This calculator provides an illustrative estimate of the statutory minimum only. Your employment contract, a collective agreement, or a settlement negotiation may entitle you to more than the statutory amount. Always check your contract and, for anything contentious, seek advice from ACAS or a solicitor.
